How to Reposition a Property Location on Google Maps

If Google Maps incorrectly maps the location of a property, you can manually adjust it by following these steps:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open Google Maps
    Go to google.com/maps.
  2. Enter the Property Address
Type the address into the search bar and hit Enter.
  3. Verify the Current Location
Check if the mapped location is correct. If it's incorrect, zoom in or out to locate the correct spot on the map.
  4. Identify the Correct Location
Navigate to the precise point where the property should be located. For instance, it may be a new development or an unmapped lot.
  5. Place a Marker at the New Location
Right-click (or left-click, depending on your setup) on the correct location on the map. This will create a gray dot and display the longitude and latitude at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Copy the Longitude and Latitude
Click the coordinates displayed at the bottom of the screen. This will populate a side panel with detailed location information.
  7. Generate an Embed Code
Click the Share icon in the side panel.
Select the Embed a Map option.
Copy the HTML embed code provided.
  8. Use the Embed Code
Paste the embed code into your website or the designated map code field for the property listing. This will override the default location mapped by Google.
